Could we get an expiration date on this?

    Windows XP Home Edition.jpg

Seriously? If I haven't learned about the "exciting new features in XP" by now? I'm not going to do so. Please stop asking me. I hate Windows.

I really find the things I hate most in Windows are when it assumes both (a) I'm an idiot, and (b) it should give me as many choices as possible. It's really either one or the other, but Windows assumes both all the time.

I just want to connect to this non-secure wifi network which you've already told me is not secure in the screen where I had to manually select it; why are you nagging me about if I really wanted to do that? Why tell me that I've re-connected to that previously connected network EVERY TIME I come back from standby mode? Is that newsworthy? It'd be newsworthy if YOU DIDN'T CONNECT.

The last time I ran Windows on a laptop, yes it was newsworthy that it could reconnect to a network after waking from sleep. I remember being surprised that my first Mac laptop could just do that silently with no fuss.

But in general yes your point about Windows treating you like an idiot while asking if you want to do something foolish is well taken.

(in my very best Carol Beer voice) "Computer says no."
